5 Expert Tips for Transitioning Your Skincare Routine From Summer to Fall

When the weather starts getting colder, I see so many Savor Spa clients come in with new skin woes like flakiness and breakouts. Thank you, decreased humidity outside and moisture-zapping artificial heat inside!

To keep your skin clear and glowing through this tricky summer-to-fall transition, I asked our estheticians for their top tips.

Layer your skincare products in the right order. “You want to apply your products from lightest to heaviest,” says Savor Spa esthetician, Donna. Follow the Savor Beauty numbered system to cleanse, tone, nourish and moisturize.

Skip harsh exfoliators. Yes, you need to slough off dead skin cells that can make skin look dull, but “do it with a chemical or enzymatic exfoliator instead of a physical one,” says Yasmin, our Spa Trainer. If you’ve haven’t tried our new Pumpkin Enzyme Peel, now’s the time!

Add a second dose of hydration. “Use a good hydrating serum like the Raspberry Seed Serum and then seal it in with a good moisturizer like the Truffle Face Cream,” says Yasmin.

Don’t forget about the skin below your chin. “During colder weather all of your skin can become dehydrated,” says Savor Spa esthetician, Amber, “which means that body-care products like the Chardonnay Body Cream are essential.”

Continue using sunscreen. “Most people stop using SPF in colder weather, but you should keep it in your routine year-round because UV-rays are still present,” adds Amber.

Happy Autumn, beauties!
