In honor of August National Wellness Month, I'm sharing a practice that I call “Soft Life Sundays."
Along with a schedule in my planner, the day is dedicated to a leisurely pace. This practice blends softness with productivity, leaving room for feeling inspired, creative, and free.
When I have an entire day open, it's easy for me to get caught up in mindless scrolling or watching stressful political shows. There's something oddly soothing about creating these “Soft Life Sunday” schedules.
They provide a loose structure that frees me from decision fatigue of having to decide what to do next, while still allowing the flexibility to follow the schedule—or not.
This approach serves as a blueprint for rest, rejuvenation, and readiness for the week ahead. It’s like a beauty ritual for your soul, aligning perfectly with the Savor Beauty ethos.
Here’s an example of one of my Soft Life Sunday schedules; feel free to pick and choose what you like to create your own Soft Life Sunday!
7:30 AM - 8:00: No-Alarm Wake Up
Wake up slowly and mindfully. Avoid looking at screens for the first hour of the day. Stretch, take a few deep breaths, and spend a few moments practicing gratitude.
8:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Aromatherapy, Skincare, and Yoga
Start the day with a soothing skincare routine using Savor Beauty’s Rose Collagen Trio. Begin with the Rose Toner to cleanse the pores, the Carrot Rose Serum for vitamin A antioxidant hydration, and finish with the Radiant Rose Cream to plump skin and seal in the moisture.
Flow into a gentle yoga or Kundalini breath work. End with a gentle face massage and a hot shower. (Add a few drops of essential oils to your shower for aromatherapy).
10:00 AM - 11:00 AM: Holistic Recipes
Prepare a healthy, balanced breakfast. Whether it’s a smoothie with fresh fruits, a bowl of oatmeal topped with nuts and berries, or avocado toast, eat mindfully and savor each bite.
11:00 AM - 2:00 PM: Creative and/or Movement Time
Read a good book, write in journal, take a walk, make a grocery list, go shopping, cook. Choose an activity that stimulates both mind and spirit.
2:00 PM - 4:00 PM: Plan and Organize
Use the Savor Beauty Planner to structure the upcoming week. Light a candle and play soothing music while setting weekly goals, scheduling tasks, and planning self-care activities.
De-clutter the workspace to create a serene environment. De-clutter a pantry, closet, or drawer. Sort through the items that are no longer needed and throw them out or give them away.
4:00 PM - 6:00 PM: Rest and Relax
Take a break to relax. Meditate, listen to calming music, or take a nap. Prioritize rest to recharge mind and body… do nothing 😇
6:00 PM - 9:00 PM: Soft Life Social
Host an intimate potluck gathering with close friends and family. Everyone can wear comfortable, cozy clothing, and a potluck is a fun way for everyone to contribute without any of the prep stress.
You can even consider using eco-friendly disposable plates, silverware, and cups to minimize cleanup while still being environmentally conscious. This small change helps reduce waste allowing your gathering to be more sustainable and stress-free.
8:00 PM - 9:00 PM: Digital Detox and Create a Peaceful Environment
Unplug from digital devices. Turn the living room into a serene environment; Light candles, play soft music, and use calming scents.
9:00 PM - 9:30 PM: Evening Skincare and Mindful Movement
Follow the evening skincare routine using Savor Beauty’s numbered products. Double cleanse, tone, apply serums, and moisturize.
The streamlined numbered skincare routine perfectly aligns with the soft life philosophy because it simplifies self-care, making it effortless and enjoyable. By removing the stress of deciding what products to use, you can focus on relaxation and rejuvenation (a soft life necessity!)
End with a few gentle stretches or meditation to wind down.
9:30 PM: Prepare for Bed
Create a calming bedtime routine to unwind and signal the body that it's time for sleep. Avoid screens and the blue light they emit, which can interfere with the sleep cycle.
Instead, read a book, listen to soothing music, or do some gentle stretching.
Create a peaceful sanctuary by keeping it cool, dark, and quiet. Use a diffuser with calming essential oils like lavender to create a relaxing atmosphere.
Soft, comfortable bedding can also elevate your beauty sleep.
This Soft Life Sunday schedule is simply a loose structure to give you gentle direction toward activities that fill the well. By integrating the soft life pillars into your day, you create a balanced and fulfilling lifestyle that emphasizes self-care, productivity, and well-being.
